I've always been a fan of Monterey - cute and cosy with a courtyard out at the back. I have a soft spot for retro and love the old landscape paintings on the walls, heck, a young version of the Queen features too! They serve a good variety of savoury and sweet food, a perfect match for the coffee which is strong and smooth. The staff are friendly and Grey Lynn funky.
